Boca Jewish Center
Boca Jewish Center is a community center that provides a wide range of services and opportunities to the residents of Boca Raton. It was founded in 1957 by a group of Jewish professionals who wanted to create an institution where Jews could come together to celebrate their heritage, learn about their religion, and participate in social activities.
It has been more than 10 years since the center was founded but it is still going strong. The center has been able to grow and expand its facilities over time and now offers more than many different programs for children, adults, seniors, and families.
The Boca Jewish Center is a community of Jews who are committed to living a meaningful life and to making the world a better place. It is our mission to provide an inclusive environment where all people can explore their Judaism, practice their faith, and engage in social justice.
BJC offers classes for adults and children, holiday celebrations, Shabbat dinners, bar/bat mitzvah celebrations, adult education opportunities (including Hebrew language instruction), cultural events, lectures on timely topics, .
Though it has only been in existence for a few years, the Shul led by Rabbi Yaakov Gibber has become one of the most thriving Orthodox congregations on the Eastern Seaboard. It has become both vibrant and welcoming and continues to grow with each passing day, thanks in large part to the guidance of our rabbi.
Shaaray Tefilla’s spiritual leader is Rabbi Yaakov Gibber. Rabbi Yaakov has been the spiritual leader of the Boca Jewish Center may years, and he’s been involved in the synagogue’s activities and growth for just as long.
Rabbi Gibber was the founding Dean of Aish Ha Torah’s Intermediate Beis Medrash program in Jerusalem, Israel before joining the Boca Jewish community, and also as a teaching staff at Yeshivat NetivAryeh. He was a teacher at a New York high school and a community associate at a Jewish institution.
