Katz Yeshiva High School of South Florida is a private, Modern Orthodox Jewish high school, located in Boca Raton, Florida. It offers a rigorous academic curriculum that includes study in Gemara and Halacha, as well as an all-encompassing Judaic education, enabling our students to become leaders in every aspect of Jewish life.

The Rabbi of the Boca Raton Synagogue was aware of the potential for increasing the Jewish community in South Florida and started talks with the South Palm Beach County Leadership about opening up a Yeshiva High School in Boca Raton. He thought it would be a huge benefit to those who are interested and looking to establish themselves as part of a Jewish community in this region.

Rabbi Brander formed The Committee to Form a Yeshiva High School in 1997 and appointed Rabbi Perry Tirschwell as Headmaster. They envisioned a school that would blend the intensity of a yeshiva with the broad-based education of an exploratory high school.

The institution officially opened its doors to 41 new students in ninth and tenth grade in September 1998. The institution was started by a group of parents, educators, and members of the community on the Boca Raton Synagogue site who wanted to provide their children with an opportunity for a Jewish secular education, much to the delight of the community.

The Katz Yeshiva High School of South Florida grew from a few classrooms to a 60,000 square foot facility in just the span of just a few years years. The school currently has an advanced STEM lab, two large Beit Midrash grounds and basketball courts, as well as an exercise facility and spectacular gym.

The KYHS organization has experienced a rapid expansion over the past few years. In 2021, it had an estimated 491 learners of all demographics.

Katz Yeshiva High School of SouthFlorida welcomes families from all ethnic backgrounds and provides a nurturing environment where they can embrace their Jewish heritage and feel at home with fellow classmates.

The school is always looking for ways to celebrate and highlight the various Judaic and General Studies courses that they offer. They also have a variety of Co-Curricular opportunities available for any student looking to get more involved in their education.

For those who are interested in applying to the Katz Yeshiva High School, there are a number of steps that need to be taken. Firstly, individuals will need to complete an online application and take an admissions test. Following this, potential students will need to interview with representatives from the Admissions Board. As for those who have been invited to meet with the Director of Admissions, they should contact him or her to set up a time and date for the meeting.
