Katz Hillel Day School of Boca Raton is an independent Jewish day school with a mission to provide each student with a combination of Jewish and general academics while maintaining the highest standards in all areas. They pride themselves on cherishing the full range of the child’s personality and providing them with an atmosphere that will enhance their intellectual, moral, social, cultural, physical, and spiritual growth.
The Katz Hillel Day School in Boca Raton is committed to cultivating young minds that are intellectually competent as well as morally aware. This commitment is reflected by a rigorous academic curriculum focused on developing the mind and caring for the soul.
The staff at KHDS are committed to having a positive and motivating environment for children to grow, as well as providing the necessary support for them to reach their full potential. They also strive for the inclusion of parental involvement in the learning system so that we can teach children the skills necessary for success in school and in life.
The Samuel Scheck Hillel Community Day School was approached in 1989 by several Jewish families in Miami Beach to establish a high quality Jewish day school for their children. They think that it would be a good idea for the institution to open a Boca Raton branch for those that live in the area.
After only a few months of effort, the Hillel Day School of Boca Raton became a reality and opened its doors in September 1989 with 42 pupils.
As the institution grew, it became clear that school duties needed to be based in the broader community. The school was chosen to be continued most efficiently as an independent institution, which is how Hillel Day School of Boca Raton was created.
In 1998, the school relocated to its current location at its stunning 15-acre property. There, it established new facilities and quickly became the pinnacle of education in its area due to the commitment by faculty and staff to provide lifelong learning opportunities in a diverse environment.
The school boasts a vast gymnasium, playground, outdoor swimming pool and several state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories.
The school has grown tremendously over the past few years and now serves over 600 children from kindergarten to eighth grade. It was renamed Katz Hillel Day School of Boca Raton by the board of directors in January 2016 to commemorate the founding donor of the institution, Daniel J. Katz.
The school offers a dual curriculum that consists of general studies and Judaic studies. This progressive approach to education enables students to explore different aspects of their identity including their academic, social, and spiritual development.
