Over 35 FAU Students Spend Day Volunteering, Cleaning Schools in Naples

MEDIA ALERT: B’nai Torah Congregation and Students from FAU headed to Naples this morning to volunteer and help clean-up the area. The bus of 35 plus students will return to Boca Raton this evening between 6 and 7pm to the FAU.

The trip, which started at 6am this morning, was made possible by donations and coordination of B’nai Torah Congregation, Hands on Tzedekah and Hillel at FAU.

The students will be cleaning up Hurricane Ian wreckage at two schools, East Naples Middle School and Sunshine Learning Center, as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. These two schools have also been adopted by the B’nai Torah Congregation, which means ALL students will be provided new uniforms, backpacks, shoes, food and any essentials they may need, courtesy of B’nai Torah.

WHEN: The bus with the kids returns to FAU’s campus tonight, October 7, between 6 and 7pm (an exact time will be available upon request closer to arrival time).

WHERE: On the FAU Campus, 777 Glades Road, then lot 19, SE Wimberly Library, Boca Raton.

WHO: 35 FAU students; B’nai Torah Congregation’s Director of TLC Summer Faerman; and Hands on Tzedekah organization.  (Interviews available with Summer Faerman all day today! She is in Boca Raton waiting for the bus to return.)
